INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

Little Heroes

'Little Heroes' is a brainchild of Krithika Natarajan and her husband and violinist/illustrator, Rajeev Mukundan. In this illustrated series, they explore and re-imagine iconic Indian characters when they were kids. This series includes illustrations/cartoons of Indian legends who have contributed to the development of various fields in India. The illustrations are accompanied by creative descriptions and minute-long animated musicals that explore re-imagined vignettes of "what would these characters have done when they were actually little". The music and sketches influence each other, with Rajeev working on the illustrations and Krithika working with her little students on the music and arrangement.

Virtual Navaratri

There are many rituals associated with the festival of Navratri, or the nine nights dedicated to goddesses Lakshmi, Durga, and Saraswati. The Navratri Golu, a decorated display of dolls and figurines, is an integral part of the festivities in South Indian households. For the Navaratri festival in 2023, Krithika and Rajeev have thoughtfully crafted a digital golu with music and illustration, giving the viewers an experience of a golu being built step-by-step, with an exquisite and curated collection of illustrated dolls coming together with soulful music.
